Hey all, pretty new to GW, and I made the mistake of only purchasing Factions. I have been playing around with various types of builds, W/E, W/N, W/Mo, ect. Problem is, as far as grouping I do fine, but as far as solo PvE or farming, I have no clue what to do. All the farming builds I've seen call for skills from prophecies. So does anyone have a suggestion for a farming build using only factions skills? Is it possible? Or am I doing something wrong?

well on factions you can use all the skills from prophecies and more added on from factions i think. i not got factions...

If you only have factions, you wn't be able to get Prophecies skills. There are a number of warrior skills that are duplicated in Factions (they'll obviously go by a different name), but not ALL the skills from Prophecies will be available to a Factions-only warrior.
If you're just starting out, I'd suggest giving http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page a good look-over (better yet, bookmark it). You should find a lot of info here to help you get a good start...

Ok I am fully aware that I do not have access to the prohpecies skills, and I have a concept of how to play the game, which is why I am asking if a Factions only build is viable for farming?

I don't see why not; you'll see a lot of people voice opinions about how much better Prophecies' warriors are than Factions' warriors, but a lot of that comes down to the player. If you're good, you're good, and you can make a viable Faction farming build that will work, simple as that. If you're bad, then you can have every elite skill in the game, and still stink.
Double-check your skills, cap your desired elites, and off you go.

Here is the thing. Eviscerate (elite Axe skill) + Executioners strike is the standard prophesies warrior. You add one more attack skill (like Axe Rake, or a disrupt), bulls strike for PvP, healing sig, a rez sig (or whatever). This is what u do for PvP damage in Prophesies.

In Factions, you don’t have Eviscerate, so axes are not nearly as good in PvP. For PvE, you would either go Axes or Swords. If you went with axes in PvE, you use Triple Chop, Cyclone Axe, maybe executioner’s strike, and other skills like defensive stance, and endure pain. Truth is, Triple Chop and Cyclone axe work great with Bonetti’s Defense, but that is a Prophesies skill.

But Factions Sword Builds > Prophesies builds. Much better.
Your standard Prophesies combo is probably Dragon Slash, Sun&Moon Slash, and Silverwing Slash, with Tiger Stance or Flurry (if you have Flurry, take another stance like sprint to switch out if you come under attack). Add to this hamstring for PvP. Or really anything. These four skills would be core (although if you use a second profession stance, you may want to use Standing Slash instead of Silverwing)

The other way to go is Sever Artery, Gash, and Final Thrust, and For Great Justice. and any elite you want. This spreads conditions and has a spike at the end. Just remember: do not use Final Thrust with Dragon Slash. Bad combo. Don’t use Quivery Blade unless its your only adrenaline attack or you use For Great Justice, which doubles your adrenaline per hit.

Oh…you could go hammer. But that’s another story. More specialize. I really have not really worked out Hammer-playstyle yet so I won’t comment.

Whatever your build, put 15-16 points in your weapon. Put at least enough into either strength or tactics for your shield.

1. You meant Factions right? dont think Dragon Slash and Sun&Moon is prophecies

2. Flurry? You meant Frenzy I guess... just clarifying...

Sorry. I meant to say that Factions Sword > Prophesies Sword. Dragon and Silverwing are Faction. And I meant the skills that makes you attack 33% faster, but take double damage.
